Other than a trip across the border to see Niagara Falls when I was kid, we never left the US. I caught the travel bug in college, and ever since, I have tried to take trips whenever I can.
Reflecting on all of this travel, I realize how often I took advantage of the slightest opening to get another trip in. I'm so glad I did, again and again, because I've gotten to have some incredible experiences.
I enjoyed abusing the capabilities of some of Notion’s database views to create the initial version of this.
I already had a list, and I used Notion AI pretty heavily to coerce it into the database format that powered the views for the effects I wanted to achieve.
I wanted to reconstruct the order of my trips, but my original list didn’t have that. Thankfully, I don’t usually go a day without taking pictures when I travel, and I was able to recover most of my actual travel times from my old photos, as well as emails.
I want to do states and provinces, too, but there’s no way I can reproduce first visit dates for most states.
